There are a wide variety of beaches in Fiji - soft white coral sand, volcanic black sand, golden sand. No matter where you choose your holiday you are sure to find a beach just right for you!
Good beaches are found in most parts of Fiji.
The Mamanucas and Yasawas have some beautiful examples of white sand beaches, which are lapped by clear turquoise lagoons.
Viti Levu (the main island) is not renowned for its beaches but there are still some excellent spots. Natadola Beach (within easy reach of Nadi) is a seemingly endless curve of magnificent beach. Due to a break in the fringing reef, the water here provides pleasant waves for body surfing. The Coral Coast on Viti Levu tends to be the slightly coarser coral variety but there are still a number of good spots. Most resorts along this coast also maintain their beaches by raking.
The outer islands including the Southern Group (Kadavu) all have some pretty good beaches. On
Taveuni one can find both black sand as well as white sand beaches.
